How to cook Dumplings

Have you ever wondered how to cook dumplings? We cant tell you how to cook all type of dumplings because they are all different. What we do know is the ways of cooking our family recipes handed down through five generations, and this is our recommended method - the Deeva Delish way.

step by step guide to cooking frozen dumplings

Boil Dumplings

Bring a large pot 3/4 of water to the boil. Ensure the pot is large enough for your dumplings to cook. Place frozen (yes, frozen not thawed) dumplings into the pot and stir gently in circular motion instantly, cover lid.

Stir Dumplings

This is the most important step, if you dont want your dumplings to break apart, stir gently and stir often, atleast every minute so they dont stick to the bottom of the pot or together. If they are sticking together, your pot is too small. keep stirring and cover lid. Once the water comes back to a boil, you can remove the lid and leave the dumplings to cook in a rolling boil, at this point there is no more need to stir.

How to tell when my dumplings are ready?

Dumplings are ready when they are floating in boiling water. The best time to strain them out is when they are looking very puffy in appearance.

How to fry dumplings?

Once dumplings have been strained from the boiling process, let them rest for 2mins. Heat some vegetable oil in a fry pan and fry your cooked boiled dumplings until they reach the colour and texture of your choice. Serve immediately .

How to serve dumplings?

Dumplings can be served as an entree or main meal. Pair them with Deeva Delish Chilli Oil or our dumpling sauce for extra flavour.
